Which is best 2.25 petrol or 2.6 petrol

Hi guys

as using a series truck for everyday use inc some long distance driving ( manchester to cornwall two or three times a year ) which would be best 2.25 petrol or a 2.6 petrol.

(1) mpg
(2) cumfiest ride
(3) reliability
(4) practicality

just throwing a few ideas around in my head

You missed out on a 2.6

There was one on ebay that went for £51 in the liverpool area I think so not too far from manc

Had been dry stored for the last 10 years but was turning freely according to the seller

Considered a 2.5 petrol from a defender? They go pretty cheap because a lot of the defenders are going TDI, they are more powerful than the 2.25, just as bomb proof and about the same MPG...

I have had a few series 2.6 motors which were loads a fun but your list up top it has to be a 4 pot pref a 2.5. Plus look at what these guys do you could crib a few ideas.

Skim the head alot and give it.a full rebuild and it will transform the engine but mpg cannot be made too much better.
