hello guys I am disco owner and a friend of mine in work is thinking of getting an Freelander but what is pros and cons and which series is best and engine etc? he said he seen one 1600cc diesel ??? anyone can help?

Yeah... what people really want in a 'girlfriend' is one that's unreliable, won't do the things you want to and that regularly withdraws all your money from the bank and spends it on the same things you bought her last week...

Yeah... Un pay around 6grand ferr it, un anover 5grand doing it up
to get it on the road, un realize later ya got a feckin geat
tratter just tu pop tu the shops in!!:( :( :)
Nah... I got mine fer 3... spent a bag on it in the first year, including insurance and tax and so far it's cost me £45 quid on bits this year. Go on then... how much didger Freeloader cost yer? And how much is it going to cost you to keep it on the road this year?

Oh yeah... it'll beat a V6 freelander on mpg too. Not to mention if I decide to take it off road.

If you want a shopping cart... try a Nissan Micra.

Hi, I'm not a car expert (but I'm a computer pro though) but a 1.8 litre engine should be fine (Petrol). I don't know much about 2.0 litre diesel engines but I would imagine they would be fine too.

Word of advice...if you're going to buy a 1.8 litre engine Freelander then be careful on motorways as they are a bit slow accelerating but after a while (and got to admit, I got caught out on this!) once it reaches over 70mph, my 1.8 litre Freelander (Manual) has power to take you up to 110mph!

I overtook a lorry and then moved into the slow lane and then in time at all, caught up with a queue of cars, overtook the lot and then checked how fast my Freelander was doing and realized that my Freelander was doing 110mph (hang on a minute...)! So watch on the speedometer!

Motorways are the least if the 1.8s problems, the head gasket blows on a regular basis releasing all the coolant which gets the car wet and then its doors fall off!!!!!  :D
