what type of diagnostic tool is available too read my D2 it has the 3 amigos on permenant there are quite a few out there but knowing which one to find the faults without spending a fortune is a mine field, some say hawk eye but others have said lynx what would you guys recommend

Nanocom Evo
Hawkeye
Lynx
or Testbook
With the latest versions of hardware and software any one of them should be OK
When I looked at this question, I just bit the bullet and bought a new Nanocom.

Another vote for Nano EVO. The only downside - apart from the price - is that it only does either the TD5 version, or the V8 version of Discovery II, but not both.
Whereas Hawkeye does both petrol and diesel in the one price.
Don't know much about Lynx yet, but I reckon I will still go for Nano EVO myself - just need to count the pennies again.
