If you don't need a lockable one then the standard one mentioned above is fine.
There are many different options hence the difference in prices.
Personally I wanted a standard looking one (ie. lid fabric to match the seats) but it had to be secure so I went for an Exmoor Trim lockable one, it is very well made and very slightly larger than the OE one it replaced but being made of steel (i.e. thinner walls than the wooden one) has a useful increase in capacity.
Some people use the cubby-box to mount stereo, CB, switches etc and choose one to match but if you don't need these options don't waste your money.

What he said ^^^^^^. You can also make em so that you can still leave the centre seat in place anorl.

Thanks, I was happy how it turned out too. I would'nt have posted it otherwise I supposeJeesus feckin christ thats nice.
That was what I had planned to do at first, but it meant having to put the hinges on the passenger side of the box or it would not open far enough or by making it small enough to open like a normal cubby box it would have been to short to be of any use.What he said ^^^^^^. I've made mine wider then a normal cubby box to make up for the lack of depth

How tight is it on the seat belt buckle though ?
I got ****ed off tryng to make it work and gave up in the end. I decided landrover got it right first time :doh:
