Going to fit a towbar to my '02. TD4.

As I had the rear r.h. window trim and r.h. loadspace side trim removed to do another job, I thought I would suss out the connection for the towbar I have ordered. I will be fitting both 12n & 12S sockets. I have the caravan charge/fridge relay sited and a separate 4mm feed from the battery (Fused of course) pulled through. I have looked on RAVE electrical section for the "Towing Pick up connector" (C0499) pinouts only to find that it is not listed.
I also printed off the towbar fitting instructions from RAVE and it shows the connector located in the loadspace, r.h. side. However there is no sign of it. There is a bunch of cables disappearing through the grommet, and having a look underneath, they appear to go to the r.h. bumper light assembly, but no spare connector can be seen...am I missing something ???
Another related question-do I have to pick up an "Ignition live" from the passenger fusebox or is there anywhere in the loadspace that I can tap off ? I need this to energise the battery charge/fridge relay coil.
The car has never had a towbar fitted previously as the towing eye is still there, and looking at the state of it, it's been there since the car was built.
If the worst comes to the worst, I will just splice into the lighting cables the old way-solder joints and heatshrink, I will have to do that anyway as there is no connector shown on RAVE for a pick up.

If you look at the Rave instructions, where it shows the wiring coming through the opening in the side, there is a small hole to the upper left of it.
The connector is clipped into this hole but from the inside so you can't see it.
You can get a dedicated socket, loom, and connector for about £25.

Yes the connector is plugged into a holding block hidden inside the panel hole .

Thanks for the replies guys.
When you refer to the "Panel hole", are you referring to the hole with the grommet where the cable goes through the floor pan ??
I will have another look tomorrow in the daylight and update.
:):)

**UPDATE*
Thanks Guys for your input, appreciated :clap2:

As posted, yes, it was hidden at the back of the panel, accessible through the hole. The giveaway is the plastic clip (One of those you have to squeeze the "Nibs" in to remove). Released the clip and out it popped. Can't understand why they hid it though, there is plenty of clearance between the large plastic side trim and the inner body panel.
I have run the wiring for the relay, 4mm sq. tri-rated cable straight from the battery via a 30amp "Master" fuse for the fridge and caravan battery charge and a signal wire to the relay coil from an Ignition ON wire. If it helps anyone in the future, the wire I picked up the coil signal from is a thick Green cable located at the front of the passenger compartment fusebox-remove the access cover for the fuses and you will see a bunch of about six or so wires hanging down at the top l.h. corner. One of these wires is Green, just strip about 15mm of the insulation back, do not cut the inner wires, and just solder your signal wire to it and protect with insulation tape. I ran the signal wire across from the fusebox, down behind the drivers side kick panel and underneath the door treadplate mouldings (Alongside an existing harness), through to the loadspace area (Drivers side).
Have removed the recovery hitch bracket and run a tap through the holes in the chassis (M10) and am now ready to fit the towbar.when it arrives !!. I'm in two minds to paint the rear crossmember, where the towbar fits, prior to fitting and also do the fuel tank brackets at the same time. Mine do not look too bad at the moment. What do you think ?? paint them with Hammerite or give them a good dose of good old Underseal .
:D:D

Well done on finding the 12N socket took me a while to find , That is what i ment by the hole in panel , but video explains it better :)

Just two things - If it's a genuine landrover towbar the towing bracket if left on car , Bolted strait on with nothing needing removing ( apart from the stickers over the middle bolt holes )
The video also shows the white plug for the "caravan electrics 12S " at 50 seconds on the left .

It's a Witter towbar (Not detachable).
I was expecting the towing eye bolts to be a pain to remove due to possible rusting, but they came out easy. Thread sealant had been applied before assembly. I shall give the towbar-when it comes, a coat of Hammerite, except on the data label and smear all fixing bolts with Copper grease.
