Where find engine number

Hoping to buy a disco 1997, 300Tdi
Where is the engine number and chassis number (just to make sure match up on log book)

VIN plate is under bonnet on a plate.

Engine number is stamped on right hand side of block, also gearbox number is stamped on right hand side, transfer box number on left hand side of appropriate item.
These can be checked through LR if needed.
Also have a look on front right hand side of chassis for another vin plate, and on rear of chassis for the same.
