When is a Deepender NOT a Deepender?

Saw one of these in Newbury today and wondered what the hell it was.

It was a Santana PS10, aparantly a Defender made under license in Spain. Different rear lights as well, more car like, with a rounded edge to the hardtop at the back.

My God that Iveco is odd and nfrom the advert I notice the hard top has the same curved back. I wonder if LR's cunning marketing plan is to sell them the rights to the body but they cant copy the lights as they look strange with the double lights

Anyway, bit of light interest.:)
 
Santanas used to build Land-Rovers under license but that agreement stopped years ago. The current Santanas are totally independent. Most of the the reports I have seen suggest that although they are cheaper than a Defender, they are expensive for what they are because they're rubbish.
