when an engines been stood

hello there i have a defender thats been stood still a couple of years.
im looking to have it up and running in a few weeks.
its been sat minus a starter motor which im yet to source and the radiator has been off in that time.
ive had several comments made to me about it being seized up standing so long which have me worried so rather than bang the bits on new battery and fire it up is there anything i can do before hand to save me damageing anything ie change glow plugs etc thanks.

get a socket and bar and try to turn the engine over on the crankshaft pulley.
if it moves fill the bores with engine oil and turn it over a couple of times to lubricate the bores. then attach rad top all the fluids up and fire it up.

WD40 is great at freeing up stiff pistons if they don't move.
