I have a set of five land rover steel wheels 5.5x16 wheels with tyres.

The tyres are 235/85/16
2x insa traction track with 9-10mm tread
2x bronco grip edge with 9-10mm

And one bf Goodrich track edge with 6mm
one is flat at the moment due to valve splitting

£100ono

I'm in Bridgend , South Wales

They were with the car when I bought it. Your wrong about the 7.5" min width as you can fit 265's to 7" rims and 285's to 8" rims

Yeah yeah corse I'm wrong.....you CAN fit them its just a bloody stupid idea.....

Ooooooo.... look what I found :doh::doh:

Very interesting so every one who sells landrover tyres is selling them on wrong size wheels.

I think not.

Your info is complete rubbish.

On the contrary HIs info is absolutely correct those rim sizes are recommended by the tyre manufacturers themselves. However that doesn't mean that only the recommended tyres can be fitted. But shuld you try to claim against tyre manufacturer foir a fault. They would be well withing their rights to tell you to Fork orf.. Likewise your insurer would be within their rights to refuse to pay out if you had a crash and they sussed that you had the "wrong" tyres on your wheel rims..

Just cause something is done doesn't make it correct.. If ya don't believe me Ask that twot Nigel Gresham!!

That info is utter rubbish, I've looked and only one site had this info and everywhere else I looked inclueding tyre manufacturers give diffrent info and 7.5" is that max rim width that a 235/85/16 tyre will fit.

I'm completely dissapointed with the way people have responeded to my add on here it's seem to be pick on the new guy.

These wheels and tyres are NO longer for sale on here.

In future check your info before you post.

If it was correct then I would think that landrover parts shops that sell tyres wounldnt be able to sell tyres on the wrong size wheels, plus how do landrover get away with it on new landrovers putting that size tyre on 6.5-7" wheels.

Answer me that.

Shame.....was gonna make him an offer :rolleyes: oh well....

The info may be wrong for all I know but its from a manufacturers guide and tis a fair assumption they know more than I. Was well intentioned anyway, I've seen some scary bulging tyres and dont much fancy popping one off the rim :)p) cornering with a load up

Does seem to be some discrepancy, Craddocks wheel tyre packages for 235's are mostly on 7j's and couple on 8j's and 2 on 6.5j's......just goes to show what I know :p
