fook me they should have learnt, only saw a rerun of the one where they messed up a sj410 this mornin by trying to turn it into a mini monster truck spent 1500 quid on it and then still failed the mot cause of rust, no chance with a discovery,,,, perhaps they should try and turn a gaylander into a bonfire woud probably have more success

not forgetting the bright yellow series/defender they couldn't sell, or the range rover they were going to convert to LPG but couldn't because the engine was shot.

Land Rover Discovery TDI - Episode 17
Mike Brewer is looking for one of Britain’s unsung motoring heroes, a Land Rover Discovery.
It’s been a huge success since its launch in 1989 as both a rugged off-road workhorse and practical seven seater family transporter. There are thousands on the road as they are cheap to buy and run so Mike needs to think of a way to make their vehicle stand out.
By taking a standard Discovery at a minimal cost he wants to convert it into an expedition vehicle that can fetch double the amount of the standard.
Having found a 1995 Discovery TDI for £1500 Mike is excited to take it back to Edd and tell him about his expedition idea. With Edd fully on board Mike gets to work finding the parts while Edd checks out the mechanics.
This is a real boy’s toy project and with a few added extras at a small price they are hoping to turn a big profit.

Expert car trader Mike Brewer has bought a standard model Land Rover Discovery TDI for £1500 with the hopes of turning it into an expedition vehicle and adding value.
Edd has already got a head start on the mechanics and Mike is off finding the right parts to make this an exceptional expedition vehicle.
To make it rough and tough Mike gets hold of an underbody protector, ladder, roof rack, snorkel air intake … the lot! When Mike delivers all this to the workshop Edd is quick to start adding the pieces on.
With a few alterations Edd transforms the standard model into a real expedition vehicle ready for off-roading. With Mike in toe they go off and see what this bad boy can do.
After having a thrilling road test Mike has a buyer ready to look over this transformed vehicle. The moment of truth - Was the transformation worth it and can Mike get the price he’s after?

truly was a load of old cock. spent £500 on a roof rack and ladder, but didn't think about changing the tyres.
All said though, he bought it for a good price, but they never mentioned anything about the rear boot floor, sills, inner wings, rear seat belt mountings and so on.
are we to assume he bought the only rust free discovery in existence ?
and am I the only one who thinks the buyers are all set ups ?

if only it was that easy, changed the steering box but we all know you would have a day or so welding and paid well over the top for or parts
i wonder if the new owner spent much more on it putting new Tyres sorting rust out we will never know

i really cant stand this program!! Mike Brewer knows very little about the cars he buys, and proves it nearly every episode. Ed China is probably a decent mechanic but he proved himself an idiot when he tried to tell people how to respray a Porsche rear qtr with aerosol cans and made a right mess of it!!
