Wheeler Dealers

Some of the resale prices are over the top in my opinion, and they are not restored they are just fixed and blinged.

I also enjoy it:D

They do, do total restorations that Morris Traveler was a total restoration and was a good show, and they have done a couple other total rebuilds. And then others are bought and major repairs then moved on.

Very good show by the way

They left the old traveler engine as it was, did they leave the brakes as well?

The Delorean resto was strange. They bought it fixed it up, registered it with Isle of Man plates (where I live) and then took it to an owners show, and somehow sold it to a bloke from the Isle of Man (what a coincidence) I've seen it in the local garage where I get my Landy parts from.

I think it's a good show. Let's face it most car shows are full of twonks in baseball hats, it just seems a bit too good to be true. The last one I watched was a Cadelac where they only showed half of the work that must have gone into the car.

They often miss off parts from the end of show total which anoys me. An episode where they make no mention of the obvious new disks and calibers spring to mind.

Still like it though as above and miles better than Top Gear.

Fast an loud is great though and the New series starts new years day.

"I bought a dodgy car from Wheeler Dealers" - you can just see Rupert Murdoch preparing the headlines - I don't think they can afford to do a dodgy motor. It's basically the only regular programme showing actual techniques and let's face it, 60 minutes of bleeding brakes hardly makes good television. Take it for what it is - entertainment with more than the average bit of motor mechanics included - and it's better than X-factor, etc!

Quite enjoy the recent shows, they seem to do a reasonable job on most of the past couple series projects without too much scrimping.

Have been re-watching 'a 4x4 is born' too, seems okay so far. Quite informative tbh.

Funny how whenever the wheels go for a refurb they come back with new tyres on them, with no mention of the cost of the tyres in the count up at the end.

I also don't believe the prices they sell the tat for sometimes but I think that's all staged. You often see the cars on ebay going for a lot less.

i cant help but watch it! but i do find myself having to moan at the tv at that silly turd mike brewer! He is a total twonk and his part is obviously staged.

The old suzuki sj one made laugh. They did all the lift, then welded a rollcage in etc and at no point managed to realise it was rusted beyond repair! Even i noticed the rear tub was rotted through right by were he was putting the rollcage.

Oh and a saab 93 were they put new turbo on, ignition, coilpack, gear stck etc and aparently the £400 profit was an amazing result!

Think ill take my landy to edd china he works for free

Apparently/Alledgedly/So they say on another car forum, Brewer blew the engine on the Cobra before they bought it, screwing the arse of it.
It was given a new engine, and turned up on Ebay at a much reduced asking price than the tv one.
Its entertainment, I would rather get rid of the Mike Brewer segments and see more of the work Ed attempts, after all Ed is one of the bosses of the show.
They also bought a 90 off that landyman guy off ebay.
Fast and Loud for me, they have at the moment resisted the urge to scream and shout and throw things through doors and rubbish...so far.

the end of show haggle is a farce, as is the buying at the start of the show.

"I know the car's worth more, and he's asking 17k, but I'm going to give him a cheeky 5 grand bid 'cos I'm a wheeler dealer"

Ha so true

i love the part at the end were they try and chip him £500. He gets on his high horse and says "thats a cheeky bid, do you want half the car, its gotta be full asking price and im not willing to budge!"

Must be set up because most people would tell him to feck off!

Still one of the favs at our house. Yes a lot of work is missed or not included in the cost tally at the end, and yes the sales are a bit of ham acting for the most part, but as said ^^^^ at least there is more than the average amount of dirty tinkering, and there are some very useful tips from time to time.

+1 for 4x4 is born BTW, another great series.

They seem to be ending up with a better car that when they had an eight hundred pound budget etc

Just to be controversial....Ed really irritates me!!

Nope nothing to do with all of Heath and Safety annoyances, more that he rarely acknowledges that the work is not soley completed by him, there are others in the garage.

Still I love the show, doesn't come close to any of the Mark Evans 'Is Born' Series! :)
