Wheel spacer question

Do spacers have a definite positive effect on the driving experience? I know they look good but I'd like to know people's opinions and reasons for fitting them before considering them myself...

On the standard 215's the car handled noticably better, and was more "chuckable" then I fitted big tyres and it handles even more like a whale than it used to

Bearmach (H&R) are the best, got them fitted to mine. :)

How long have you had yours fitted?

Any issues with bearings? I was speaking to a garage today who is against them as they make the bearings wear out faster and out abnormal loads on them. Referring to Defender & Disco as they haven't had a Freelander with spacers.
They are a Land Rover specialist.

Had them fitted 2 years, no probs so far (touch wood).......thinking about getting modulars, so won't need spacers. So might be for sale soon. :D

The Bearmach ones are made by H&R, you're paying for the H&R name and TUV approval,
I contacted performance alloys dot com over the weekend enquiring about 30mm H&R spacers and this was the reply
Dennis,

Thanks for your enquiry.

H&R List 30mm Spacers to fit but they are not TUV Approved.

they are awesome billeted alloy with quality bolts i cant fault them they fit perfect on the hubs with them being hubcentric with no excessive play. i have them fitted with 235/65r17s and i cant say anything negative at all about them and i know other guys on other forums who have all fitted the direct 4x4 ones also.
