hi guys, after down at my mates garage today fitting my new snorkal, i just happend to drive off with the wheel nut key on. unless he can find it tomoro im screwed. can anyone point me in the right direction to getting another, the key pattern is simple, it has 4 holes for the pins, top, bottom, left, and right, and if it helps is a discovery 1. ive looked on ebay and none of them look the same as mine.

You dont mention whether they are genuine LR lock nuts or aftermarket ones?

If they're genuine LR, the main stealer's should be able to match up a key to ur lock nuts, if they're aftermarket one's ur a bit screwed and will probably have to get them off and buy a new set. A few thread's on here describe way's of removing them.

I had some very early OEM locknuts on mine and the stealers could find one to fit. If you cant get a key, tighten all the surrounding nut as tight as possible and use some stilsons or vice grips and bar to undo. or flatten of side to get something on. or like me, just knacker your wheel bearings and pull the whol hub off as one, put the nut in a vice ans then turn the whole wheel! that wasnt fun

Try bashing a cheapo socket on and then undoing it - that's how the garage got the wheels off my wife's Suzuki when she lost the locking wheel nut key.

can also get reverse socket things for removing rounded nuts, not sure if you can get them big enough tho

Mine go up to 32mm so they are available. They work well on landy wheel nuts.;)

Cos of the type of locking nut he has he can also use a smaller rounded nut remover on the centre part of the locking nut if the wheels are alloys.:D
