The chap I bought my 2A from threw in a set of wheels he used to use as storage wheels over the winter, and they've got a strange tyre pattern on. Any ideas what they're originally from?

He suggested from an Ambulance which I suppose would make sense.

I have no idea what to do with them - if they're not worth anything (the tyres are quite perished) then I might refurbish the wheels and use them.

The tread pattern is Bar Grip. They're used by WWII jeeps and the like and hung around until the 70s. I've never had any, but heard that can be quite bad on the road in the wet, presumably as you'll be driving on that big slick area in the centre of the tyre.

I'm not sure if they're still made any more, so perhaps they're worth sticking on eBay to see if any military re-enactment type person would want them.

I had a set for about 2 weeks i think i was given them terrible on the road but fun if your 20 sand like sliding everywhere but thinking back now they were terrible!!

Thanks all... think I might stick them on ebay then as I already have a set of decent wheels and need funds for other bits.
