Sounds like i've got a wheel bearing gone and having difficulty deciding which side. Also am I right in beleiving there are 2 each side - an inner and outer?

Any tests I can do to decide which one is causing the noise. I hear it more when I turn the wheel slightly and freewheel around a bend so I'm thinking maybe an outside one.

Ive mostly noticed it on right hand lock as well so assuming its perhaps that side.

Its not a knocking or clicking I would associate with a cv joint but more of a noisy whining noise. Doesnt do it when in a straight line.

Hi Bodga. . . .always the worst tryin ta decide where its coming from, but try this on yer cv rubbers squeeze them one side at a time and see if the noise disappears ,i have had this myself on other motors, of course you can also jack it up on safety stands so wheel is free in neutral and see if you can feel excessive play or hear any grinding, also check you haven't got a small stone trapped in yer brake parts. . . .:)
