What's the diffrence in the td5 2002 on rear diff/axle?

I am looking into some Arb lockers and the sites say a Rd128 fits discovery 2 front and rear axle before 2002 and that I'd need a RD138 for the rear axle after 2002?
Wanted to know what the diffrence was really and why I can't fit a RD128 into the rear
