Whats the Best Tyre for my Landy

I need a good mud terrain tyre that is good off road but i can also use on road as i use my landy to go to and from work every day. I have had BF Goodrich Mud Terrins but they are too expensive. Whats the best Tyre??

To be honest, You get what you pay for u could go through 3 sets of remoulds (cheap) Mud Terrains in the time it would take you to wear down 1 set of BFG's, especially road driving

Aye you'll get your money's worth out of a set of bfg tyres.

The kumhos seem to handle the mud really well i never had much trouble over Strata with them and they hold up really well on the pay n plays that i do.
Also alot of guys swear by the insa turbos i dont know myself as ive never used them.

I use Firestone SATs. Very good in the mud, ok on the road. Seem to last ok, but depends on how you drive.

maxxis do very well in all conditions, and are cheap - and NEW tyres rather than remoulds!

I have a set of Dakar's on mine paid around £230 for 4 "a pig to balance" and i use it on the road all the time no off roading im mad i know, i bought em for the bad weather excelent in the snow, now the good weather is here i cannot afford to change em, they give you loads of road noise and fuel econ certainly drops.

Alternatively you could get yourself some road tyred for day-to-day as they will handle and last better on the road, then get yourself a spare set of rims and put some MTs on to play with.

I found that with the maxxis i used to have on my old patrol, they were quiet on road, stuck like there was no tomorrow, never got stuck off road and never wore out!

I could go round a bend at a good 70, and not even bat an eyelid - just sat there like a car would! £350 should buy a set, but a good budget all rounder. Used them on and off road, in mud, gravel, slate - you name it - never got stuck once!

In an ideal world AT's for normal use/green laning & a set of MT's on steel's for the rough stuff....

Cant fault anything in the Insa Turbo range - they do the job very well, and for £250 for a set of 5 you can't really go wrong. We are running Insa Turbo Mountains as the AT tread on the Range Rover, a set of Saharas for the MT tread (which perform very well indeed) and set of Mountains on the Series

I would not touch Maxxis with someone elses stick tbh as they feel scary in the wet but all comes down to personal preference. They are cheap though....but for the price of Maxxis you can get a set of General Grabbers so don't see the point.

Agreed though, to get the best of both worlds, get 2 pairs of tyres - one just an AT Tread (i.e Insa Turbo Ranger/Mountain or General Grabber AT2 perhaps or f you can afford a nice set of BFG AT) and the other proper Mud Terrain.

4 x 265/75 Cooper STT fitted for £450 cash - excellent tyre IMHO
