I'll be in the market for a new winch in the next month for my defender i know warn is good but their a bit pricy i'd be spending 500-600 pounds is super winch good enough ??

Out of interest, I'm keen on super winches, warn okay too.

But Which models will take regular submersion and are sealed and have remote solenoids?

Saw an advert for a goldfish winch in water-what they are like I don't know, personally I'd go for a Sealed super winch if they do one.

I'm out of touch with current models and specs-anyone got some good links

my warn gets dunked all the time and coverd in mud,it gets used a lot at p+p sites and winch challenges.
the only mod i did was to fit an albrite solenoid so i could run external and internal switches easier.and i prefer the albrites as ive used them in the past

The EPI range of superwinches have bridged solenoids. A quick go over with a mastic gun will help keep em water tight.

if you're only doing light stuff, have you considered getting a tirfor?
i've used mine on allsorts of occasions, inc those when a normal which attached to the front would have been no help

the warn winches seem to be the better winch going by reviews i read , has anyone had any problems with warn winches ?

went green laning at weekend with a mate that has a super winch (unsure what model) it got put to good use as you can see

who's the old boy peelin oranges in his pocket?
he's either gonna get run over when the landy pops free, or get his legs chopped off if the winch cable fails:eek:

I'd have a superwinch over warn especially the husky anyday and not just for the cost factor.

The goodwinch goldproof is very good but all the new superwinches come with contactorless solenoids.

Husky in a brownchurch bumper would be my pick.
