Hi...Bit of dilemma here, i am a london cab driver living on the borders of Essex/London, 9 years ago we bought a great dane and decided we needed a vehicle to suit ,to cut a long story short i found a 1993 defender 90 2.5 petrol owned by a local vet 1 woman owner (honest) never been off road, well serviced and 46k on the clock i wanted a diesel but the milage done it for me.It was a hard top and immaculate so i set out to make it more user friendly for the wife and kids, Brownchurch fitted windows and roof rack for me , i fitted rear seats and a bit of carpet, scorpion racing fitted wheels and tyres. It is a great motor, we have had alot of fun over the years, we went through France to southern Spain once, we went up mountains and along beaches and the Landy never missed a beat,it was the first motor my son drove age 12 in the field at Old sodbury's and my wife knocked over a concrete bollard once while parking and never felt a thing.

The dillema is that this is 9 years later and our dog has died, my son has discovered girls and the wife is complaining its like driving a tank to sainsbury's. I myself still like driving it after driving a black cab around all day because my 90 is a drivers car, but i must admit i have been thinking well maybe a bit more luxury might not be so bad and i have been looking at mk 2 range rovers or maybe a nice disco. I dunno what to do really, i do love 90s and know where the nice ones are parked in the west end and sometimes find myself driving up park lane and out of 4 lanes i choose to drive behind a 90 ( pretty sad really) i'd better not tell you what happens to me when i am out side the barracks and a Wolf pulls out.

Anyway i thought i would share this with you,i have just discovered this site and will continue to drop in whatever happens.

Hiya mate. :welcome2: to landyzone.

Keep the 90 for yourself and buy the missus a focus or summit. :D:D:D

I would say ditch her but she'd only get the house AND the 90 outta the divorce settlement.

As for landy spotting. Just wear a dark coloured pair of trousers so the wet patch doesn't show.;)

I am guessing that your 90 has been pretty reliable. If you buy a P38 rangerover or mk2 disco It won't be as reliable. I went from a 300tdi 110 to a TD5 110 last year after some c**t tried to nick my landy and burn it out. I have spent twice as much on my TD5 in the 6 months that I've had it than I did on the 300tdi for the 20 months that i had it.
