I have never owned a landy before so am totally new to this, not too sure what to get, looking to spend no more than 2k. I know that I either want a 90/defender/series not sure which though, also want a bit of speed but also need a half decent mpg.....any suggestions??? Cheers guys :D

For the money that you have available and due to the speed and mpg constraints I would say that you were better off getting a Discovery 300tdi rather than a defender or series. You will get much more for your money.

Don't listen to him! Get any of the ones you listed you might even get a 200Tdi Defender but it won't be up to much. I reckon the newest you'll get is a 2.5 Turbo 90. Do a search on here for a fred called "Buying a second hand 90" or similar, Dunno where your from but there's a series III advertised in the Hull Daily Mail for £650 ono sez it's got a sound chassis it dunt mention the bulkhead though.

Oi, less of the 'bloody wimmin' ;)
Have had a bit of a search thru the threads but can't get away with it at work for too long lol.
Considered a discovery but much prefer the defenders/90s....much more beefy lol. Want to be doing a bit of off roading too so I'm guessing the defender will be the best bet for that sorta thing??
Will continue my search....not many around this neck of the woods tho, plenty of freelanders but I'm no hairdresser so will leave those alone :p
