Hello all , back again after a long break, used to be a series 3 but now going for a RR HSE , but unsure as which to choose , have been looking at either the 4.2 SC or 4.4 , about a 2005/6 . Any view / advice would be most welcome
Cheers

I've been living with a 4.2 Supercharged 2007 Vogue SE and I've had a good few cars in my time but this is by far and away the best vehicle I have ever owned. Super quiet and refined with supercar performance. Had it mildly remapped and getting about 450bhp. Fuel consumption is on a par with my old TD6, about 24 on a motorway steady 70-80mph, though around the town it's not great at about 16 or so. Fantastic brakes from Brembo and has been super reliable (There I've jinxed it now)
You must get a facelifted version from after 2006 when there was a mild interior change (rotary special programme selector) and improved vehicle electronics including a MOST fibre optic system. I purchased mine with 100k miles on and a suspect gearbox which I had reconditioned (£1600) and have put 45k miles on and apart from routine maintenance has been absolutely brilliant, it failed the MOT last week on the rear brake pipe that goes over the tank but to be fair it had been an advisory for the last 3 years. Oh and it makes the most glorious noise, that Jaguar V8 is just the dirtiest sound ever. Saving my pennies for a 5 litre supercharged though some say the Ford engine isn't as reliable as the Jag 4.2.
