Try a pm to Hippo, I think he runs a V6 very successfully, & should be more clued up on the price front. I'm afraid I'm a Td4 man myself & wouldn't ever consider a petrol model, but there are people who will happily buy even knowing the potential problems.

Seriously though you are not going to get much for your Hippo now. I had to ask the same question when I realised my 2000 L series had lost half its value in a year. The conclusion I came to is the best thing to do is to keep it and look after it. It has far more value that way then to sell it.
