Hi guys I really could do with some advice on a price to sell my silver discovery 2 td5 2003 es auto, new MOT as of this month, 132K on the clock, 2 x keys

I have had the car about a year and have spent a lot on it but the problems keep on coming and its a stress I can do with out at the moment, I have a child with additional needs and a wife that has MS and that uses up all my worries and stress tokens and I just can’t deal with it anymore.

The work I have had done is as follows -

2 new rear hubs inc breaks pads and disks.

front drivers side new hub in pads and disk.

2 new rear hight sensors and calibrated.

injector loom replacement

new drivers side electric window regulator

Full service all oils filters etc

New water pump etc

Shock bush front x 2

All new break pipes a fluid

Radius arm bush front and rear

2 new tyres

leaking sun roofs re fitted to stop leaks x 2

A fully reconditioned ABS Module

I am sure I have missed something off.

The car is very very clean in side and out, its a great example to look at but there are some more problems that need attention these are.

ABS / TC lights have come back on, had the ABS MOD replaced again but still have the problem

Self levelling suspension lights comes on

off road mode light comes on (suspension lift rear)

All the head liner is out inc all the plastics altho I do have all the parts ready to be put back on.

Am I going to get sod all for it because of the problems it has what would be a good price to start at? I understand its hard to say but an idea would be a great help.

Many thanks.

Serious answers please, I am upset enough about selling it as it is.

Valuing old vehicles is like how long is a piece of string!

Very polished, but pics of the underside would tell more.

Not a lot of money with all those faults, 1k or under is the right ballpark.

Very well prepared for selling!
Nice pics, good backgrounds!
But redo the interior ones, sans "clutter"!
Also a pic showing the steering wheel centred always looks good.
But as for pricing????
Its really whatever someone is prepared to pay!
D2 prices are all over the place.
Put it in the usual places, Autotrader, EBay etc and see what happens.
Do a nice write up with those pics.
Make up a file with any service history, bills etc.
Show the plate on your advert pics, Im always suspicious of covered up plates, looks like your hiding the MOT history etc. But your call.
On Ebay, if you do a "Buy it now" listing, never de-list it until you have the money, too many wasters on that site.
Autotrader works, and surprisingly local paper adverts still work.

you will get a grand for it not a penny more.
The chassis will be riddled with rust, all the silver ones are prone to it.
No need to thank me.

If you need anything else valued, just SHOUT

Most welcome

Do you no the reason as to why the silver ones are prone to it ?
Thanks

I'm sure I read somewhere that it was something to do with the DNA of the rust beetle and the fact that it can only see in 2D and is coloured blind.
Apparently Silver to them is the same colour as their favourite food.
Dont take this as gospel but I'm sure its along those lines
