What one is the correct one??

They are both same (pattern) part? Both outside uk too. Either check these out eBay item number 110923279416 or give your local bmw dealer a ring ( will work out cheaper and quicker too)

I am now a little confused as there seems to be more than one part number that works..
110923279416
11127799367

If I go into BMW's and quote 110923279416 for an E46 320 will I get the correct part for a 2003 pre-facelift Td4??

Thank you for your guidance..

Why anyone would buy either of those parts on eBay is beyond me.

Both are copies of unknown origin and the cheaper of them is within 50p of the correct genuine BMW part. (When you count in the postage)

As already said, you go to any BMW Parts Dept. and ask for:

BMW Nr. B11.12.7.799.367 Cost: £23.35 inc. VAT

Which is the correct part for all LandRover Freelanders with the BMW M47R engine.

Freude am Fahren.

Hoo-ah!

Singvogel.

Edit: 10% off - well done Marky - an example to us all.

While I am at it I will be doing the following as well,,should give her a clean bill of health,,

Land Rover Freelander 1 TD4 Performance Air Filter - Pipercross PX1429 - BMW E46 | eBay

LAND ROVER FREELANDER (1996-2006) TD4 EGR VENT AIR FILTER PHB000450 | eBay

LAND ROVER FREELANDER TD4 EGR BYPASS KIT Stainless Steel | eBay

And to clean the Maff up a little..
CRC Air Sensor Clean Mass Air Flow Cleaner MAF UK Stock | eBay

Not necessarily from these suppliers but the parts will be similar if not the same..

Is there anything else you think I should be doing???

Thanks in advance..

Before you throw money away on sudo- performance parts, expensive filters that will do squat, wait till you have had it a bit to find out what you really need to spend money on. Service it with cheaper standard parts first.

That will have to go on a later shopping list, but the benefits look great,,

would possibly go for one of the switches inside so it can be adjusted without getting
out to change the settings..or maybe just the on off push button,,

Whats all the Maff talk can this be tuned or changed as well????

I have to agree - unless you're going to race it, that Pipercross filter will not make much difference at all.

Better to get a Mann or Mahle filter at a fraction of the cost.

S.

p.s. There is no such thing as an EGR Vent Filter - the guy doesn't even know what he's selling. Its a Turbo Solenoid Vent Breather.

as others have said don't get rushing to spend your money.....change the oil, air filter, bmw cyclone, intercooler pipes. get the egr and intake off and clean with good old mr muscle and blank the vac pipe to the egr then run it on bp ultimate/shell v power, you'll be surprised at how much difference that will make and cost all of 80 quid..... ;)

The filter is as you say a little on the expensive side but I have always run these on my cars,
so it would get put in sooner or later,,,
I had one in a previous BMW for nearly 60,000 miles, and it was only cleaned once in that time,
and it was as far as I can tell very effective,,and mostly importantly for me low maintenance,
I am hoping the BMW upgraded crankcase oil separator will also be less maintenance,
as will the bypass mean I wont have to keep cleaning the EGR out either..
I could be going at this completely wrongly trying to reduce the maintenance side,
but I have a feeling that a Freelander Td4 Auto will keep me busy with other things and not just general maintenance

All this said I really do appreciate your help and guidance,
but sometimes we just do things almost by habit,
just because we like them..

Bugger forgot Oil & Filter...thanks for the reminder,,

I was reading about the fuel and I think you Markyzs180 and Singvogal were talking about the difference it makes to not use supermarket diesel..it was a good read and I will be putting the V power in it from the next fill up..

The Turbo Solenoid Vent Breather.
This is the small one that goes on the end of the long pipe, capped at the other end??
mine is quite dark in colour, well it certainly isn't a nice orange colour like the ones in the pictures..

I think I may as you say be getting ahead of myself,,just keen to get it as right as I can..
I will fit the bits I have in my list, may as well they wont do any good in the shed..
then get the oil and filter changed
(whats the best oil for low mileage short trips)

Thanks again guys..

cyclone is fit and forget although some seem to think it might be worth popping it out and giving it a wipe every couple of years?

the egr (once blanked) is effectively a bypass kit itself and as you have stopped it opening to let the exhaust gasses through it will stay clean once you've done it.

intercooler hoses will spilt/collapse at some point for for 30 quid just change them

oil change - easy to do yourself once you've got the undertray off but there are others who don't mind paying (but keeping a close eye on!) kwikfit 35 quid to do it!

if you're anywhere near the midlands get to bell engineering for a vcu/ird/diff check and make sure the autobox oil was changed at 60,000 miles. do a search on here as it is specific oil (at 10 quid a litre) and need to be draiined refilled at a set temperature to get the correct level.

spend your money on these things first and you td4 auto will serve you well buddy then you can start adding your nicey bits one by one but throwing stuff at an engine that needs this basic maintenance doing can cause problems in itself.

Great information Mate,

Cyclone & EGR will be done first, then I am afraid I am a watch the oil being changed man,,but at £35 ish I cant justify doing it myself..

Inter cooler hoses I have looked for and they all seem to be really expensive, do you have a link or a name to some realistic priced ones..??

Unfortunately I am right in the S/E corner mate so I will be on the lookout for Land Rover/gearbox specialists to do the fluid change, its just gone over the 64,000 miles mark (Mileage is verified even if the FSH is a bit dubious) so I doubt anyone would have done the gearbox fluid change just before they sold it..

Again thanks...I need pushing in the right direction sometimes..

hey no worries i can tell you just waant to get it all sorted!

intercooler hoses.... the 90 degree egr one is around a tenner, the long one across the front is about 50 quid for the one with the sensor in BUT do what i and others have done and buy the early one without the sensor for 20 quid take your old one off and swap the sensor over! you need to cut the pipe but 10 seconds with a hacksaw and its done! no point wasting 30 quid on a sensor and two jubilee clips that you don't need. do a search or drop me a line if you want some pics :)
