I was raking through some of the many funzies that came in my '93 RRC's center storage compartment and found this little fella

Can someone tell me WTF this is as I am lost?

Also a rake around in the boot revealed this

I'm guessing that some of it is audio related? As for the connector block, was that part of the old sub as it was removed for the LPG tank? Or is it something else.

The first thing looks like a rotary coupler cassette for the steering wheel buttons.

The wires in the boot are for an amp, subwoofer and cd autochanger. Want to buy a woofer?

Almost right Spud with the first one !!!! :p

It's the Cruise Control Cassete which fit's on the steering column/steering wheel.

The second is some sort of audio/video lead

Sorry for the 2 posts, multi quoting is impossible on the iPad.

So that'd be the cruise control shagged I'd guess, oh well I'll just add it to the to do list

P.s WTAF does the cassette do? I thought it was just buttons, vacuum, ECU?

It has a contact ribbon in it and connects the buttons on the rotating steering wheel to the harness. If the one you have is good, know that it has to be fitted correctly with road wheels straight ahead the ribbon centralised or as you turn the wheel ribbon will snap. Directions for fitting it are in RAVE under tech bulletins.
