I noticed this on my SU hif6 carbs on the rangy, I spotted it because after a short run up the drive and back I saw it drip what looked like white fluid and after a smell test I expect its water and petrol mixed.

Vacuum pipe connection.

You only need one, blank this one off.

The fluid is probably from the breather pipe on the other side.

thanks, when you say one, I cant even see this little nipple on the other carb, is it located in another place on the drivers side carb?

If the carb bodies are identical, they should both have one, it's for the vacuum advance/retard on the distributor.

Possibly if the carbs are handed there will only be the one port, but where does your advance/retard pipe go to? Manifold or carb body?

pretty sure it goes to the fanimould, I will have a look at the weekend. I wonder why the bad petrol was coming out of it?
