Doing some more bits on the rebuild, and found this connector. Not sure what it is for as I don’t have a photo from the strip down of it. It may be that it was never connected, it may be it was and I didn’t photo it.

Yellow/black and black. Spades like the rear of the ignition switch. Probably 1mm2 cable. Around the heater area on the bulkhead. 200tdi.

Thinking about it, is it for one/both washer pumps??

Edit: just checked, it isn’t. That has its own loom.

It’s in slightly the wrong place but it could be for the choke warning light as fitted on petrol models. Try making a connection between the two wires and see if any lights come on on the dash. What’s the worst that could happen...!

I tried to find a photo of it during stripdown, but the only one showing it, it’s already disconnected.

I was hoping to fire the engine up again for the first time tomorrow, so may give it a shot.

Did the bracketry in photo support something that the wires connect to, obviously live and earth ?

No. The bulkhead that is fitted now is a galv 300tdi. Mine is a 200tdi. It’s confusing as the only electrics I have in that area are the heater fan and washer pumps.

@jamesmartin any ideas?

On a bad day? Vehicle electrical fire.

I was quite confident that the wires were indeed for a choke warning light, it’s just a simple switch, not much different to connecting the wires directly. But thanks for your positive input, as always.

Lol, I was takin g the p1ss buddy, should of used a ''taking the p1ss'' smiley.
