I am currently doing a project at college about off-roading, and was wondering if any one could help with this question.
what's the % of the UK population, that actually go off-road?

Also the % of the amount of off-roaders that get stuck, or cause damage to vehicle or occupants of the vehicle?

Thanks

Hmm! Looking at your username, I wonder if you are deliberately cruising for a bruising? Maybe would be better in AG if so? :)

If it is a serious question, you haven't worded it very well. Not unusual for a student.
Define off-road? Is that if someone goes up the kerb and onto a grass strip outside their house? Or into an unsurfaced alley at the back of it?
Or does it mean people who deliberately go to Pay and Play etc. ?
Also, what kind of vehicle. Landrovers only, or cars, mobility scooters etc. too? Tractors are mostly used off road, and their drivers tend to go off road every day..
Myself, I go off road every day, it is a mile to tarmac from my house! :)

What percentage of the population actually drive a car? What percentage of the population own a vehicle that is capable of venturing off road? What do you define as off road? Are you putting a time limit on when you last went off road? Your question would be like someone asking on a ramblers forum 'when was the last time you walked in the on grass ' poorly thought through with no parameters for a correct answer.....

They're all off learning how the fook a diesel engine works :p:D:D
Suck, compress, inject/bang/power, exhaust hopefully. The more fuel the bigger the bang and the faster the engine turns and the more power it produces. Air in the cylinder remains constant. Unless you complicate matters with silly turbo chargers. EGR can reduce oxygenated air but fuel injected for power required stays the same. Not a lot of people know that apparently. :D:D:D

Also I have 2 old land rovers on my drive that are SORN'd so legally these are classed as off road, however when I go green laning my vehicle requires tax, MOT and insurance as I am driving on a public road that should be maintained by the council so technically I'm not off road.
