What Is The Inner And Outer Sill

Help please
My discovery 200tdi needs a new sill on the drivers side.
There is a big hole on the underside of the sill and when I removed the trim and carpet inside there are a few small holes at the top of the sills. Mainly where the screws for the trims were fitted.
I have looked on the internet and I can see that there are inner and outer sills for sale. Looking at the photos that they display I'm not sure which one I want as I can't place how they would fit from the photo. If anyone can help I would very much appreciate it. Or if you know of a link where I could see a diagram of the parts on a car this should help as well.

It sounds like you need a new outer sill if the holes have been made by the trim screws. the inner sill is the bit under the car behind where you say the holes are.

Thanks for the reply does the outer sill cover the bottom side of the sill as well as the biggest hole is there approx 2 inch by 12 inch or are my likely to need the inner and outer sill. The way my luck has been going so far It will probably be the two.

from the sound of things you will only need the outer sill it is a very large panel and replacesthe bottom and sides can't remember what I paid for it but it was not to expensive.
