I manufactured and fitted an aluminium chequer plate sump guard, then removed and chucked my back box now running straight through exhaust on my td4 freelander, I am suprised at how quiet it is with out it. Managed to do this whilst at work so managed it all whilst being paid. Even aquired the ally at work

Yes please do, I have also aquired some maps of training area and am going over for a day on Sunday with some club that the kids have sorted for fathers day, think they want a day without me being at home moaning at them to help their mother more.

took mine for a spin to go pick up my alternative vehicle so it could go for it's MOT. That sailed straight through too.
Changed the oil and filter, had to drill two of the rivets as the bolts had rounded heads and were in solid.
Then went on to drain the water and add new soulution that was when i found out the thermostat isn't working. lucky i guess better now than later. well i need a new one, and my locals dont have em in stock (1.8i front mounted thermo ).
However i have bonded with my Landy. blood, a little sweat and a lot of cursing.
Are these thermo's easy to comeby in Manchester. ?

Really proud of it tho. Even tho it is expensive, I do plan to take it off road seriously at some point. Already been laning, all I really need to get sorted it off-road tyres and some recovery points at the front.
well i've got a spare jate ring and a set of MT's with wheels and i'm about an hour away from you
Problem is, I'm going to have to somehow manufacture a recovery point on the front. I was reading an aussie forum and a couple of people have said that the tow loop on the front is strong enough, but I wouldnt want to risk it.
I saw on rangerovers.net a guy who has taken his tow loop off and made his own points that are bolted on to the chassis, so will maybe look at that. Always other options though, I'll work through them, see which one is most feasible.
i spent the last 2 years being pulled out of muddy holes with my ring...oooeeer mrs. and never had a problem. just wanted to be safe by fitting the jate and rope.

To be honest, I'd rather be pulled out backwards. Theres a reason people get stuck going forwards so i'd see it as pointless trying to be pulled through it.

They won't fit cos the studs are different on a P38 compared to a Disco 1.
