What have you done to your Landie today.

Replaced the Blue bagged coolant pipe that I had to buy a few years ago as that was all the Indy had and I was desperate, since then its weeped fro mthe bottom connection, not too badly but enough to annoy.

Bought a genuine one last week and fitted it this morning, no more marking of territory, what a difference and less than an hours work to replace and refill coolant system including bleeding it.

I've fitted the 4 into 1 breather pipe adapter and fed them to a pipe running up into the roll cage.

I've extended the wiring for the ammeter so that it now goes into the bottom of my Raptor dash where it goes to a 6 way fuse box which give permanent live (from aux battery) which in turn feeds a second 6 way fuse box which give ignition live (from aux battery) then re-wired the dash to the relevant fuse boxes. Then taken a feed off the horn to a relay and connected it to a wire going to the front of the engine bay ready to fit two new horns tomorrow then I've pulled through a side light and ignition live from the dash to above the sun visor ready to fit a 2xcigarette and 2xUSB box to power my CCTV and sat nav without trailing wires

Then removed the original aux live feed making it all much tidier and better for future mods.

Finished welding a bit .
Painted a bit.
Found rust in chassis

Got the option of sticking a younger 200tdi lump in my landy to replace the current one. Then rebuild the current one. Or stick a box and td5 im for a grand. Stuck and don't know what to do. The extra power would be nice but not sure I can justify the money or time to convert it. At least if I did the first ide have a spare engine on the shelf for later on in life when they become rare :/

Just do the 200 tdi engine mate, if you want a Td5 its easier just to go buy one than converting one.

After sorting out the wiring yesterday I've fitted a pair of loud horns behind the grill connected to the horn switch via a relay so all three sound at the same time. It doesn't sound like an asthmatic sparrow now. Also the wiring in finished (bar the ground) to behind the visor ready for some stuff up there....

Saved it from getting illegally ticketed and towed.

Filled it with crap & hooked up my Sankey ready for a car boot sale

Let the nephew take me for an off road spin through the forest in my Defender. Climber up some very steep tracks made by the large tractors.

I've been off for a couple of days to see a special new friend. Here's my Land Rover loaded up with tools and tissue paper:

There's jacks, stands, impact wrench, tool box and a compressor (hiding behind the tool box) as well as a change of clothes, toothbrush and groceries.

It's a 2004 model TD5 which a friend has just bought. Seems in very nice condition on the surface. Here's another shot:


There was an awful lot of dirt (and a bird's nest) in the chassis though. Here it is jacked up so I can give it a good clean in preparation for rustproofing. I've squirted the chassis inside and out with the pressure washer. We'll leave it to dry for a while and when the Dinitrol arrives we can get its 11 year old untreated chassis covered up with oily goodness whilst there's still some metal there.

I've blown some stuff into the box sections of the bulkhead and the rear crossmember already, but I'll go back in a week or two and do the rest.

I'll be putting the dash cam out of the Landy into the truck in the morning. I can have one pointing down each side of the Landy then.

thursday just gone I went to fill up and had a tesco delivery driver reverse into the front on my and push me back 10ft while i was standing at the back going in the boot. silly #### has squashed my bull bars banana'ed my bonnet and broke the grill and light surrounds. tried to sort something out with my bullbars yesterday but it decided to throw it down untill I packed away then it was good weather
