finished bleeding my d1 brakes, then took a d1 shell down scrappy on trailer but called through mcdonalds drive thru first which I don't think they liked it as were fairly busy lol
 
Took the injector out and dropped them in for testing/fixing.

Then fitted another seat in the back and sorted out the storage in it. Just got to strip brakes down tomorrow too see what is wrong with them.
 
Towed the horse trailer to a show for the misses then dropped the trailer and horses off and took all my tools in it for a rewire im currently workin on client was well impressed with it and wants one haha.
 
So we cracked on with the 300tdi auto that i bought for my missus;

Last weekend; cleaned the inside (still stinks a bit), sorted some of the manky headliner, fitted the handbrake (it was in a plastic bag behind the seat), tried to fix the handbrake cable (rusted solid) engine oil n filter change, auto box oil change, new aux belt. Cept that after 5 minutes the belt self destructed and ended up half the width it should have been, spent quite some time cutting strips of poxy rubber off the alternator pulley. bs'd way through the Italian equivalent of an MOT, sorted rear windows by re-soldering the dry joint following instructions what i found oh here (thanks btw)

Today;
New aux belt tensioner n another new belt, fuel filter, removed the erg, fitted the blank, welded a bolt into the in hose inlet, removed a vast amount of nasty muck from the inter cooler hoses,tightened the loose pipes to the steering fluid reservoir, re-fitted the rear bumper end, replaced fuel overspill pipes.

i am knackered.
 
Engine/gearbox/transferbox/diffs Oil change. Filters change. Changed fan belt. New lift springs that are the same saggy height so need some heavy dutys, wired in lightbar, New pads on the back. Donee!
Help a mate do wheel bearings for 5mins.
 
took the battery, chassis, engine earth lead off cleaned it with a bit of emery,
wire brushed the contact points and put it back with a bit of vasoline.

am hoping it will cure an intermittent electrical problem i'm having!
 
Fitted me new snorkel, replaced the old rusty bent one.



Began taking my exhaust manifold of to gain access to the stater motor. The moment i plug the battery in it immediately starts to turn over, except its not engaging with the fly wheel so makes a horrid grinding noise. Anyone know if thats the solenoid and motor not working correctly?

Also, don't suppose anyone has a replacement motor and solenoid for a 200tdi disco
engine? cheers :)
 
Lined the interior cab with foil'd bubble wrap insulation from homebase the other week in prep for when I'm sleeping in the back away from home for work.

Now a lot warmer at night and no longer get condensation all over cab - big improvement.

Also fitted a fridge and leisure battery with a split charge relay.

Bolted in some eye bolts: one at front left corner and one at back right corner to sling my hammock from.

And replaced the series door seals with defender type after some minor cutting with the grinder. All old leaks cured instantly and no longer get wind noise at speed. Other than what's let out in the hammock at night :rolleyes:
 
you will still get condensation in the winter. I know cos I slept in mine every night from last september to about 5 weeks ago. Get some camping mat or thin carpet or even thin mdf to go over it.
 
I plan to carpet it all eventually, it's also a **** load quieter too.
I finish my work away from home in Sept so should miss the real cold nights. But I'm enjoying it tho, after spending the week in the hammock a real bed isn't comfy enough!
