What have you done to your Landie today.

Just got an email from someone at work telling me that 10 older style defender have been stole from ashford area in kent. I am not to far from there ****ers steel my car and I catch em ill cut their hands of so they cant do it again haha.

But just thought I would give anyone from the south east Kent area a heads up to keep one eye fixed on their landys.

I had a new windscreen fitted due to a crack and demanded a new seal the windscreen frame was really good no rust surprisingly, but in saying that it still dribbled in around near fuse box, I never did find it

I've had a fairly productive session this morning. My old fan belt was showing its canvas, and the spring loaded jockey wheel wasn't looking too clever, so as my (expensive OEM) replacements had arrived I swapped them over. I'd also bought some new fan spanners, so the viscous fan unit came off very easily. The jockey wheel was a bit more of a challenge until I realised the spring unit was held on with a splined head bolt rather than a hex. With the fan out of the way I renewed my assault on the hex socket screws holding the EGR pipes on. I had tried them the other day and the ones on the manifold had of course rounded out as soon as any force was applied. I tried various things, including attempting to get an Irwin bolt grip socket on their heads and getting a stud extractor on, but in the end I sacrificed a hex key the next size up, ground it down a fraction so it would just hammer in (the James Martin manoeuvre) and managed to shift them. Hooray. Much better than spending hours with my girlfriend's dremel trying to grind them out. Everything's nice and loose ready for me to buy an EGR bypass kit. New jockey wheel on, new belt on, start her up to see if it's running true. Covers on, out for a little run to check it's all OK. Surely it shouldn't be this easy? Must order an EGR bypass kit now.

Its that time of year again. Christmas. So I thought I would give mine an oil change.

Tinkerbell is getting new O/S swivel joints, discs, callipers, got nice Heavy Duty hub ends too, painting all the underside around the spring and shock. Got Sumo Bars to put on so all linkage being replaced. Then it is MOT time. Wish her luck.

would kill for somewhere like that to work. I'm on the drive, at altitude so always cold and it's Wales so it's always wet too.

Im luckybto have shelter big enough to get the disco under.. but its not wide enough to do much under... but that barn! That would b nice... would have so many motors lol

Not so much today, but fitted a set of 110 mudflaps to the rear of the Discovery yesterday, should help keep the rear window a bit cleaner now that the washer has chucked it . Recently got all new springs, shox and all the wee bits that go with it like galvi' turrets etc, also new discs and pads back and front.
I'm in the process of getting the stuff to fit 240v electrics into it, I can then keep a small battery charger in the motor to give it a boost every now and then, also with these cold mornings having a fan heater running for 15 minutes inside the Landy means no scraping windows, plus I don't need to leave it running to heat it up so lessens the chance of some 'ned' making off with it.

It is good working on a farm, got all of the tools in the workshop and forklifts on hand, the only down side is that in August that barn will have 5000tons of grain in it so I need to be able to at-least push the rangy out of the door for a couple of months:violin:

Took the door to bits whilst waiting and ordered an new handle as mines buggerd!

i had this problem with yodel as well,i will never use them again.if you need a good courier firm,look up parcels4delivery.or P4D.never let me down yet.

changed the sealed head lights for halogen crystal with 100 watt xenon bulbs nice and bright

Insured it whent with nfu mutual not cheapest but offer best package

Used it to pick up my mates Landy chassis from shot blasters

Just re-insured my car. Paid £340 through Adrian Flux. NFU wanted £750. And I am a farmer!!!

got me offside trailing arm bushes done at last, only taked 3 weeks !!

After that, new fog light, (thanks lamp post!)
Fine timed pump, and tweaked it, well chuffed with the results, might have to back off the smoke screw a touch though, seems to be smoking a bit much before the turbo kicks in, although it may have been a trick of the light as its starting to fade a bit now.

yodel = rubbish

Got the disco 2 up on the ramps and pulled the starter motor, F*#king top nut, 2 hours later its on the bench waiting for the plunger and contacts arriving in the post.
Hope its not Yodel :bored:

The only courier I will use is Parcel Force. How can you trust them with names like upps and dh-hell, and isn't yodel something the swiss do?
