What have you done to your Landie today.

Worked out a cunning way of sticking my MTB in without trashing the interior. Fits perfectly!

Getting ready for engine etc out.

Unbolted props and gearbox mounts and crossmember. Needed to thaw out after that and abandoned it.

Took my jag motor out the hot rod and started taking out the Rangies 3.9 V8 to put in :lol:

Took my wheels off ready to get the tyres removed tomorrow so i can clean the wheels and reseal them.

Jumped intae mine this mornin' and it wouldn't start! No probs ah said and took the wire off the stop solenoid, gave it a clean and stuck it back on (as usual lately!). Didn't fire up so slackened the bleed screw on the filter housin' and gave it a couple o' pumps tae see if there was any air in the system... none and still didn't fire up!! Took the passenger seat out and hooked battery to another one ah've got... nope!!! Had another look in the engine area and noticed that the wire goin' to the furst glow plug had broken off!!! Looked fur a connector to replace but couldn't find one.. so thought sod it and took the loom off the other bus.. went to take the loom off the green bus and the soddin' glow plug broke!!!! Found a new glow plug and fitted it then fitted the other loom and it fired up
Went into town and when ah went to start it, it fired up just nicely. Went out to me usual tyre place as ah had a couple o' new tyres on order but they weren't in!!!! Had another tyre with a bolt through the tread so they fixed that fur me.. just need tae go back the morn and hopefully pick up me new tyres.
Came home tonight and managed tae clear enough space tae get the bus intae the garage. Went tae start it up and the fecker wouldn't start!!!! Fiddled with the connector tae stop solenoid and it fired up!! Thought ah'd better check the tyre pressures on the back and found that both were sittin' at about 20psi ( thought it felt a bit sloppy! ). Also did a quick check of the fluids around the engine and thankfully they were ok

Decided its time to change the cam belt as i'm thinking the rough idle and unhealthy smoking habit my trucks developed is due to the timing going a miss.
Seem to be lots of kits available however this one seems the most complete one i've found so far:

Though neither seem to come with the replacement oil seal for behind the bottom pulley. Gonna give a couple of local places a call in the morning i think.

I popped into "Central Auto Supplies" to pick up a serpentine belt tensioner and a rear electric window relay only to find that didn't have any tensioners or relays in their database for my reg plate!

sat in SHB's workshop watching pull aprt landies for most of the morning.Then left with a speed restricted transit.BBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

why does your reg plate need relays and tensioners????

took the 200tdi disco down the garage for some welding and brakepipes for the mot.... rang late afternoon... their buiders had turned up to do something to the roof so they couldnt use one of the ramps... will be monday evening before their done.... supposed to be snowing over the weekend and the heater in the fourtrak only works if i top the coolant up .. guess i ort to do the head gasket and put a thermostat in before next winter

took mine for a spin and picked up some coal.

i know i'm going to regret it in the morning but had to pressure wash all the crap off the underside from our lamping expedition last week could'nt see it **** order any longer
i did give it a thrashing down the A303 for a few miles to blow the water off it and have sprayed a bit of WD40 around the drivers door rubber seals, if i can get into it in the morning have a fighting chance at least

Nearly fell off the bonnet like an arse trying to clear snow off the roof with a shovel.....

Simple job today tightened my fan belt up to stop the squeal nice and quite now

Went up in the hills in the snow, loadsa fun!
