fitted a ebay sourced door mirror on me disco 1,
as the previous one had a meeting with a scrap mans transit as I passed it!,
glass never broke but the end of the black plastic unit shattered....

now "sorted"....

then run 3 big plastic bags of neighbours grass i cut to tip....

then found my mower had lost its v belt that drives the back wheels - well, its mechanicle, and "offroad"....lol

Was off to work this morning and coasting to a halt and heard a nasty grinding coming from nearside front.....limped to workshop

Unbelieveable amount of play on the bearings, can't believe I couldn't feel it driving :confused:
Stripped it down and the centre tab of the lock washer on the hub nuts had snapped off and they've been working themselves loose for fook knows how long

Gave it all a clean up and grease and re-assembled with an old lock washer (I know I know) and seems half reasonable to keep me plodding along til the weekend and new bearings.

Then a mate turns up with a slipping clutch so I have a quick look and the clutch slave seals are gone and I happen to have a spare......

NOW look at the time  and I int earnt a penny............oh well.......might as well go and adjust the tappets

Took mine for its mot... It passed with 2 minor advisories....not bad going for something that's 22 years old... Now to decided, do I keep it? Or get a range rover classic... Decisions decisions!

Undid the belt adjuster on my 300tdi, inserted a penny at the advised spot and retightened the adjuster bolt.

Hey presto.....no more squeaks and whistles, she ticks over nice and quiet, should have done it a month ago when I bought it.:rolleyes:

I had a look through the Haynes Manual to see which of the jobs I need doing are one or two spanner jobs.

Have decided that btw eldest daughter and I we are two spanner competent but am just a bit concerned that one of the two spanner jobs is brakes

clutch went tuesday mornin.,..

tried to get seized bolt off clutch slave last night with an irwin bolt grip set... just chewed head up even more..

so tonite i welded a nut on the rounded bolt and got it out..
