Started fitting my Terrafirma +2" lift kit.
Spent three hours on it after work this evening (just come inside now), and only managed to get one corner done :doh:

Was fun though, no spring compressor to hand, so used a couple of ratchet straps :D Redneck for the win :D

Jack under Chassis until wheel is well off floor support with and axle stand on chassis not axle.. and stick a bottle jack between axle and body and jack axle downwards spring will fit straight in..

Had a jack under the chassis but it didn't go high enough to lift the wheels off the ground... already had jack on top of some blocks, but didn't want to pile them up too high :D

Might give that method a go tomorrow though, if I can find a steady base for the jack. Would probably save me some time. And some fingers.

Take the tyres off then :doh::doh:

Started chopping but then it rained and I ran out of slitting discs :(

Finished fitting the rear suspension, though it appears Terrafirma haven't included one of the lower shock mounting nuts :mad:

Have had to borrow one from the front suspension kit (they're the same size) but it means that the car will look like a hot rod and handle like a bag of ****e until I can get hold of another nut.

Either that, or I just fit the springs for now and wait until I can get hold of the nut in order to do the shocks :mad: Hardly ideal!

Repainted the bumper and door mirror arm-thingies black. Painted the ally treadplate on the wings black. Gave up trying to fix the horn when a major ****-down arrived. At least the paint was touch-dry by then.

Took out the shorted ignition switch from my series 3, managed to hot wire it to satisfy myself that nothing else could be causing the smoking, and then ordered some bits from ebay to fix it up.
