I've just been giving mine a look over and checking for water, oil, brake fluid and suchlike. I'm very pleased with how my tyres are lasting.

These were put on in May 2016 and have covered well over 70,000 miles since then. Still loads of tread. It's almost getting to the point where I might consider renewing them because they're old rather than worn out. It's rare that they need blowing up either. Maybe a puff of air inside one or two of them occasionally, but they don't seem to need it more than once a year.

MoT tomorrow so gave the Ninety a quick check up of the obvious things, all seemed OK.
Went to start it - whrrrrrr, whir, wh......battery reading 10.2V  Was a tad sluggish starting yesterday and only did a short run, barely warmed up.
Battery is nearly 6 years old (Tanya 110Ah) and has been ok till now.
On charge for tomorrow, currently at 12.6V after 30 minutes and doesn't appear to be increasing :(
So it goes.....

With the engine running are you getting 14V (ish) on the battery ?
Didn't get a chance to test it properly, just bunged it in and it started so drove to the MoT.
The digimeter read about 12.6V when running. The meter is connected to a ign fed live and I previously measured about 0.5V loss compared to measuring directly off the battery so about 13V I reckon.

Update:
Getting 13.2V at 2000rpm on wired-in digimeter which equates to ~13.7V at the battery.
MoT: Pass with 2 advisories - oil leak but not excessive and steering box seepage.
No too bad a day!

Trying to find an oil leak, engine degrease. Hopefully haven't destroyed any seals :/ went a bit hard on the degreaser oops. But now when it leaks I should see where aha

Mot pass for the Ninety, first time for the 200tdi conversion but advisories on slight damage to the drivers door mirror and play in tha pas box - annoying as I'd recently bought that to convert to pas:rolleyes:

Rich.

I get the impression that these days MOT centers look to add as many advisories as they can.
I think they see it as a money making oppertunity ...
