Fitted the black bonnet chequer plate and galvanised steering guard. I would have fitted the two diff guards but they will not quite go over the diffs without being sprung open further plus my roll cage/light bar means I need to cut two large notches out of the wing top covers. Feeling too ill to be out in the cold and rain so I'm going to actually go out and drive it instead.

Removed the transfer box ready for the new one arriving with the, much appreciated, help from Pistol93. Having removed the handbrake drum as well, I see I need to order some bits to make that work again.

Took it laning with my brothers 4.7 Cherokee :)

Looks like a drive in a park

Does it have to come back caked in mud to count then? I can go to a pay&play for that.

This was a good days laning on some easy tracks because my brothers new (to him) jeep is still bone stock and on road tyres.

Still got to get the tow rope out though. Had to drag some nugget out of a ditch that had decided to go off piste to avoid a fallen tree. After towing him out, the Disco happily pulled the tree out of the way to clear the lane :)

I've fitted my swing away spare wheel carrier. A bit more fettling may be needed, because with the hinges mounted, the arm that fastens to the door sits a little too high. It can be levered together but there's a lot of friction. If I take the bottom hinge off and file some of the bolt holes into a slot shape it should fit a bit better, so I'll be doing that one day this week. Sorry, forgot to take any pictures.

I've also got some brackets inside the rear wings that go from the rear crossmember to the rear seatbelt mounts and seat rail. They seemed to be rusting away. A quick Google reveals that they cost over £100 each. So I'd better look after mine. They've been taken off, wire brushed and painted. I'll blow a bit more Dinitrol inside the rear crossmember to help it through the winter and put them back on.

Set about sorting out the knackered passenger side swivel hub, made decent progress, identifying the top swivel bearing as being the root of the problem as it was totally torn up. Then we came to an abrupt halt when we got the stub axle off. The inner oil seal was completely gone with the wrecked pieces of the needle bearing scattered about inside. New seals and bearing are now ordered but no chance of seeing them before next weekend. Living in the middle of nowhere can seriously suck when you need parts.
