What have you done to your Freelander today

I'm not allowed to turn the FL1 SE into an EV either. :(
That would have made perfect sense to me, its borked, and not going to get a lot of money because of the gearbox, so it makes sense to me at least to use it as the basis of the EV?

Ordered my service pack and stripped down parts ready to upgrade the crankshaft filter, cleaned out egr , parts should be here tomorrow
Sounds good peter, nice to see you are settling in and keeping enthusiastic - hope the weather stays nice for you :)

@Muskett , that's looking good - I personally wouldn't have painted things red, and certainly not the sumpguard but I do love the look of the really nice red paint job you did on the towing eye. I'd always wanted one of the mantec sumpguards, but could never justify it, a couple of years ago I got my hands on a homemade equivalent where someone had beautifully tig welded an ally plate across the original undertray's frame.

I agree. Although to be fair, my SE has lots of battle scars and some corrosion too, so it's probably only got a few of years life left in it. It makes more sense to convert a better condition FL1, to maximise its post-conversion life.
Plus mine being an auto means I'd need to find a manual box, not that that would be an issue.

When I do my FL1 EV, it'll be on a vehicle which is actually worth converting.

That looks like a mantec sump guard painted red. I had one of them anorl.
I think it is. I bought it a long time ago and it always gave me confidence driving off road as its so well built. Just sprayed it red to freshen it up and hide some of the history it had picked up.

Got and fitted my service kit, took for test drive and run really well.......surprisingly after I messed around with it for the first time haven’t changed EGR yet, just cleaned the old one for now as I need to clean the manifold but haven’t got the time as I’m busy working ‍♂️ I know, not many of us are but I’m busy which is good really. Changed gear gaiter, Looks great. Polish and wax when I’m get the time.

I would put her in touch with a good therapist......But I think Kermit is busy making a new movie
Believe it or not green cars are bad luck in Ireland or at least in Northern Ireland,
And even stupider (if that's a word) it's more a Catholic Irish thing than a Prod Orange thing.
Who'd a thunk it?

Religion aside, my nuncle'd've thunk that! He won't have a green car.

Similarly, one of my matesis adamant that because his sister had a dream about someone dieing in a blue or a red car, that none of us should have one. His sisters dream has precluded him from 70% of my vehicles.

I always liked the Green Freebies but there is a total ban on any green cars in our house.
Don't ask why, I guess it must be a female thing.

We can't have a green as the lady of the house won't have one. However she did actually think the Tonga FL1 Facelift looked ok. It was a more sophisticated green, apparenty.

I am partial to white cars, not for a freelander but I don’t remember ever having a red car......possibly because I’m a Man City fan, I’m not sure. Oh yes, I remember, it’s because the best red is Ferrari and I can’t afford one of those . It does depend on the car if it suits a colour or not, there aren’t many cars that look good in yellow.

This Freelander dark green is close to VW's Oak Green. I also have a Golf MKII GTi 16v Big Bumper in Oak Green too.
Add some red and black its so very Gucci, or The Royal Green Jackets (The Rifles). Fashion or Military, take your pick.

What its not is LR Bronze Green. Now that is a colour that a good LR should be in. Wonder what The New Defender would look in that?

Mine is Epsom green. Strangely nearly all our cars are either green or silver at the moment... definitely not planned that way!
