40mm lift kit, new original LR thermostat and had the rear brakes overhauled. They feel soooo much better

Fitted 2 Philips extreme vision 100% H7's to my dipped beam.
Measured clearance from ground to front jack point at 280mm and 290mm at the rear jack point (offside of car).
Up from 240mm & 280mm.
All the above measurements using my 'small' 215/60 R16 winter tyres.
With correct size wheels, it will be about 290mm front and 300mm rear. Now if I fit larger tyres.........

Smashed and replaced drivers side window, after locking my keys in the car with the engine running this morning.
Then I broke my tailgate handle off, so need to either replace or modify door.

Finally got my 99 diesel back on the road after rebuilding the IRD. It may be a 'common' activity for Freelander owners, but for me its probably the most major job I've every done on cars. Just having to remove 40 odd bolts from under the car to get the thing out is a daunting task - then hoping they all go back in alignment!! Actually the trickeyest bolts to get back in I find are the ones for the drip tray - its a cumbersome bit of kit.
I bottled out of actually installing the new bearings, I think that is a specialist job for a shop with all the presses etc, but its all back together now and on the road. Feeling quite please with myself.

In the other Christchurch, on the other side of the world, I changed my auxiliary belts and tensioners/idlers without the aid of a safety net or adult supervision. Hurrah!

I found to get the correct tension its best to have the window clamps in the middle ish of the runner

What winter protection do you use??
Just chain lube. Goes on nice and thin to get in all the small holes and cracks, squirts up the holes in the chassis rails lovely ( I know they don't have them but you know what I mean)
Once applied it goes more sticky and is a bastard to come off. I know as a lot of it was in my hair for 2 washes. Best part about it is its free for me as I seem to "find" a lot of it laying about.
Somone at work has been doing this to his transit for the last 12 years and its still solid and they rust nearly as bad as defenders!

Also popped to the scrap yard + picked up a sump guard, a new switch for my work light ( will go in the slot of a blank one) and an aerial at last. Although my tentpeg, co-ax cable electrical tape and 6mm bolt was working remarkably well after 18 months I wanted it to look proper
