Tomorrow is the start of the 59th running of the 3 Rivers Race, 100 sailing boats from 14ft to 40ft . Sailing a course of 50 miles which includes lowering your mast 4 times to get under 3 bridges. And you have 24 hours to do it. The record is about 8 hours, the worst only 13 boats finished.
It's classed as the toughest inland waterway race in Europe the 3rd toughest mass participation event in the UK. Here's a video clip which shows an introduction the start of the race and near the end going through Potter Heigham bridge. I'm in there somewhere, but this year I'm one of 100+ volunteers helping to run the race.. Must go time go collect the radio gear.

Great documentary video, are you still turning left, I enjoyed that series of video's too.

Gearbox and transfer box oils changed. Missing jubilee clips replaced. All fluid levels checked. Props and UJs greased. Floor and tunnel back in.
Dang it, I may just be ready for next weekend :)

Drove mine today. Added some more speed stripes

Removed seatbox covering after spending ages getting the seats and cubby out. One seat bolt had a nut on it on top of the diesel tank. Awkward! Also the cubby is bolted to a safe that fits under the seat box. (Being a soft top it's the only place to leave valuables) Awkward again. Once everything was out, stripped the old matting and fitted a nice new genuine matting. Brightens up the interior!

CB all wired in now. I decided to check ground resistance from the antenna mount to the chassis. Got 0.3ohms
Added a short wire from the mount to a bolt that fixes the roof to the side panels like so...

And got the reading down to zero ohms. That’ll do for that, then!

And then......WTF!!!........

This truck was FFR in her MOD days. You’d think she’d like to have a some comms installed just for old times sake but, NO! She’s has become a pampered, stubborn, ungrateful old bitch in her retirement!!

When the rain stops I need to check my rear wheel bearings as she’s developed a whine (and the Mrs hasn’t even been in the landrover since bonfire night :D

Could also do with rotating my tyres.

Earlier this week, she got an oil and filter change, new fuel filter and new air filter.
