I've taken the cylinder head off. I've put some pics on my engine rebuild thread. Would be interested in people's thoughts about my honing, turbo and oil consumption.

With the nights drawing in and Lucy living outside with only a storm cover I thought it useful to treat the old girl to her very own pied-a-terre. Started at 9am, finished at 7pm. Quite a struggle building alone...this was made worse in that, despite being a 'professional grade' tent, the 39 page manual was completely in German...not a word of the Queen's lingua to be seen. Plus the manual BOM had no correlation to the actual components. Luckily, I can decipher/translate tent assembly speak. Finally, once frame was finished, I open the cover box only to find a multi-lingual pamphlet with even worse instructions [!!] The good news is that the quality of materials are very good and uber importantly, the roof line is high enough to allow a Landy with external roll cage to drive in and out with ease...

A bit of a bump to the thread.
Well, alright I've a question for all you teckky minded souls out there.
Sometime in the future I will fit a winch to my 200Tdi 90, it's a Superwinch S9 that I took off a disco I got rid of.
Amongst the wireing was this on the power side, what is it ? do I need to fit it ?

My transfer box was getting very noisy, jangling like something was loose on gear changes and grinding on decelleration, getting worse over the last 3 weeks. I went to top up the oil only to find it emply. It took 2.5 liters! Now working fine. Talk about bullit proof..... I'm going through all the fluids now, rather than trust it's serrvice history.

Just completed the bi-annual oil change and checks prior to the MoT - first year ever I couldn't find anything that needs done! Just in case I have jinxed myself I'm going to treat the old girl to a new main lighting switch, as sometimes it needs a wiggle for the sidelights to come on.
