Pump picked up from Craddocks, and fitted with new seal and retaining ring. Thankfully I bought a tank wrench, and that made the install very simple..... Also fitted the new battery.
Today welded in a final plate on the chassis. However, Ive found that the front diff is quite noisy, and rough. The disco has been sat for over 18 months, and today in the frosty conditions, I decided to drain the front diff oil down and refil. Taking off the drain plug nothing came out.... The diff was full of water which was frozen.. Managed to defrost the diff, and refilled with the right amount of oil.... Still very notchy, and noisy. Im thinking that the diff has gone rusty with the water, and its going to have to be replaced....

changed the battery in the remote, due to it not working anymore. now the key fob will not work at all key starts the car but does nothing else.
read in the handbook that the fob battery charges when key is in ignition, dont know how this works as not like fl2 remote that docks to charge.
had trouble starting car this morning minus-3 couldnt hear the pump at first but then it started working. sorry about drawn out problem.
question i am asking is does the fob have to be recoded to car after battery change and would this cause a immobiliser issue to
stop pump from working, even if the engine turns over. this may be a question for mr stuart.

My clutch playing up I replaced the master, slave and pipe recently all good untill a few days ago it was difficult to get the gears, so removed the slave and as my new pipe is flex able brought it up to the drivers door to bleed , I did have air in will need to keep an eye on it, if it does it again I will swap out the new slave for my original slave, as then if required swap out the master for the original as it was split in the original pipe that caused me to lose the clutch

It will do for the MOT. Until I can be bothered to cut it out and piece in a cut out from a donor vehicle.... I cant see it from the drivers seat. Its been rubbed down, and primed, and Im just waiting for a can of code 696 to arrive .....

Picked up a replacement front diff today for £50. Bargain.

Currently replacing (springs/struts/top mounts/brakes) on the front suspension on my student daughter's i30, as its due an MOT, and there's knocking coming from every corner, so my Disco is taking a back seat.......again.

Well, about 2 weeks ago I got mine through its MOT.. one advisory - apparently my oil leak has returned  o_O

And a few days ago I got SWMBO's through its MOT .. one advisory .... an oil leak o_Oo_O

The OSF inner wing had taken a few days to get back into shape - and I would post pictures, honest - but it appears said function is broken again... so watch this space ..

I made a start on a fair list of bits, but a bit late and the first thing I did was tear the wastegate modulator hose nipple off the side of the turbo to intercooler pipe. So all I actually got done was replacing the oil in the front diff.

Was it clean? What brand did you replace it with?

In all honestly, I don't really know what to look for. It wasn't sludge, there was a bit of build up on the magnetic plug, but no chunks of anything. I've also no idea how long since it was last changed. I've owned the car 4 years (one of which it was off the road), and I don't off road.
This is what I bought; was planning on doing the transfer box too, then remembered that was done just over a year ago.

That's about right, I also had no idea how long mine had gone without changing before I did it and it looked pretty bad. No teeth or anything but a lot of build-up on the plug, very viscous and such a foul smell.
