Other what have u done on ur disco today

Had 5 new tyres fitted.
Decided to try the Insa Turbo Ranger AT (235/70R16)
The previous tyres were Yokahama Geoloander AT (245/75R16)

I knew the steering would be slightly better due to less rubber being in contact with the road and it is, but what I wasn't expecting is the improvement in the ride quality. The Insa's seem to have a softer / more forgiving sidewall so the ride is much better and the engine seems to prefer the smaller tyres as well, although it could be psychological. I get the impression that having less rubber to rotate means the engine isn't having to work as hard and it just seems happier.

Anyhoo, £430 for the new tyres fitted etc etc and the unexpected improvements I'm well pleased
I just need to adjust the steering stops now to recover some of the lost turning circle.

Just did the wiring harness.

Now it's burning titanic levels of oil and is running on 2 cylinders.

Piece of shít, hate diesels.

Don't think you did it right

Replaced the panhard rod with a Terrafirma HD unit, and washed it! That was a waste of time as I had to drive in to the woods to get some logs and it’s muddy again now!!

old ride height sensors ready to fall off, changed both sensors, re calibrated them to make it sit level, new air bleed valve fitted in fuel filter housing, then gave her a wash!

Well managed to get a few jobs done

disconnected the T max split charge system as the solenoid had failed again, which was causing the aux battery to drain the main battery

fitted rain sensor and had to also tell the CCF files it was there

next few jobs

going to remove the 12s socket as I only use it to charge my batteries and will change the towing socket to a CTEK plug

start getting the bits needed to install a 100 watt solar panel and controller to keep the batteries topped up

Half way through a rear 1/2 chassis swap outside on the driveway in freezing conditions. Great fun

Its a starter for 10.

Looked at it sat on drive not able to drive it

earliest indy can get it in for belt an pump is next tuesday and dont want the unknown oil pump failing and trashing the engine before i get chance to drive it to the garage

Nothing... its demanding my attention though, and i can feel its neediness, as it sits on the drive.... but I shall resist.

Fitting the new panhard rod (terrafirma) has clocked up my steering alignment, tracking still seems OK but steering wheel is off. Doh.
Trying (in vain) to correct that but run out of ideas!

Fitted a new breather hose to the front axle. Checking around I found that the chassis has a rust hole about 3 inches long, around the cross member holding the under tray. Trip to my welders tomorrow to book it in.. Luckily he's a Discovery expert.

Decided to sell the D3 commercial will be putting up an add soon.

Took it for its MOT and it passed with no advisories. Next job get it cleaned and hoovered and put up for sale.

Took a deposit on it. Looks like its leaving Wednesday.
After all the work it's a bit of a shame but broken even and enjoyed my d2 experience even if it did result in only being 6month long and blowing an engine up and doing a chassis swap.
Already been shopping about for another land rover I want.

Took it out and took some photos. Put it up for sale on local Facebook sale pages and a lot of interest straight away. People coming to see it in the morning.

Fixed and replaced steering ball joints, front brake pads, rear brake lines....

Was hoping it was ready to be re MOT but....

Caused a traction control problem I have yet to fix... doh

Fitted HD steering rod and drag link. All went without a hitch which I wasn't expecting!!
