What have I done this evening?
V8 update, found connector and powered up ECU mate, no fault codes!
only problem I have found so far is; figure value for stepper is too high, I will reduce it tomorrow.
I will also delve into the ECU mate a bit more while connected and truck running and look at how the POT is working - I suspect this

I may have found where water is getting into drivers side foot well - a bunch of wires from engine bay thru a grommet has traces of muck and water stains - silicone sealer.

night all

refitted egr pipes due to the new mot ruling , blanks hidden

nearly finished the work on the front suspension etc, etc , turbo actuator/ new jubilee clips on the turbo/

then got to test everything and start putting all the panels/ heat shields back

can start putting it all back when a new brass pushfit coupling arrives for the FBH fuel line

finished off the dinotrol inside and out of the chassis / inner wings , all sound

What did I do today? Made myself feel an arse for not knowing about a certain foible of my wife's Freelander [thanks again Nodge68]...Oh, but over the weekend, I took a can of matt black to the very tired looking silver-metallic painted radiator grille on my D2 and took another step toward making her look exactly as I want. Looks fab!

finished all the front suspension ,took it for a test drive , wow , just wow can’t get over the difference

thought it was nice before , suprising the difference it’s made just fitting new struts and drop links

am well chuffed , rear wishbones , rear brake lines hose and service next

had to do a roadside repair on the way to work this morning, to the little rubber hose joining the oil cooler to the metal pipe. it perished and split, manifesting itself as steam coming out from the left hand side of the bonnet as it sprayed the turbo and exhaust. luckily, called my mate who took me home to whip the one off my old D2 which is sat on the drive. fiddly job due to doing it by feel since the turbo heat shield is in the way. i hate those spring hose clips!

All jobs on the V8
Replaced cracked indicator lens with a spare from the stash.
Adjusted the headlamp manually, I tried the electric switch and this seemed to jam in the high position, need a wall now to check pattern height.
Fixed the Sony head unit, broken button which was causing random problems, I now have a matchstick jammed in for the CD eject :)
Front floors and sound deadening drying out great.

On the 300 tdi I replaced rear drop links, fitted new antiroll bar, bushes and did rear brake pads - they were in a right old state.
All the work to get through MOT then the 300 will be sold on

Bring it around :p

better bring my flask and sleeping bag, lol

at least my bearing puller turned up today , hopefully should make life a little easier to replace these knuckle hub bushes

thk god i bought the wishbones with the other bushes pre installed

also i didn’t realise what the small white bits were on the bushes , thought they were just some packing , then on reading learnt something new with them being bump stops
