Can anyone please tell me what sort of gauge this is please



It reads ( if you look at the top of the guage) in LB/sq" ie pounds per square inch. That means it reads pressure. As it reads up to 150psi (per square inch). Most gauges are designed to read at a nominal mid position - ie 75PSI, I would suggest that it is an oil pressure gauge.

could it be a air pressure gauge off of a lorry? to measure the out put of the on board air compressor , the hose looks as if it could be

I was wondering about that tube, as an oil capillary is usually a small copper pipe, coz yu dont want rubber pipe bursting and 7 litres of hot engine oil being pumped into yo cab at 50PSI![]()

But what ever it is used for - it was designed to measure pressure of up to 150PSI.
