What gauge is this?

Can anyone please tell me what sort of gauge this is please:D:D

It reads ( if you look at the top of the gauge) in LB/sq" ie pounds per square inch ( often abbreviated to [per square inch {PSI}]. That means it reads pressure. As it reads up to 150psi (per square inch). Most gauges are designed to read at a nominal mid position - ie 75PSI, I would suggest that it is an oil pressure gauge.

Unless yu run your tyres at over 50psi, then it would be inaccurate and a waste of a gauge to use it for that

Thank MHM, when I was looking at this, pondering its use, I thought "I bet MadHatMan knows what this does"

And I was right:D:lol: nice one MHM
 
the screwed connection with the pipe on is for the oil that youre measuring and the big round hole is to take a bulb fitting so you can see it in the dark ..... but i expect youd worked that out.....its sunday after lunch , the mother in law is here and its ****ing down with rain.... id get wet scurryin down the garden to the shed

I was wondering about that tube, as an oil capillary is usually a small copper pipe, coz yu dont want rubber pipe bursting and 7 litres of hot engine oil being pumped into yo cab at 50PSI :eek: :(.
But what ever it is used for - it was designed to measure pressure of up to 150PSI.

Yeah that pipe don't look like it could handle 150psi:eek:
Gonna take it to a man that specializes in that sort of thing. Failing that I will just put it in place so it looks the part:lol::lol:
 
It's not a gauge off a HGV, as the older vehicles sometimes had the front and rear systems on on gauge. I'd also agree with oil pressure gauge, with a wet feed I take it? :);)
 
Could be an oil pressure one but with a slight difference. Ive seen two that were similar, you had a pressure switch but instead of a electric it was a sealed diaphram, you would set it up and then fill the tube up with a supplied fluid and there you go. Only problem is accuracy but its better than the other 7ltr of ****ing oil version lol
