well it should get through if the MOT guy is nice and doesnt care. Saw a immaculate galvy 109 in the scrappers ASM and it was a vosa reject to be crushed no other details but he wouldn't sell me the chassis

vosa arent the same as mot tester ,they dont care as long as it passes

Hmmm wonder if the chassis was really a 109 or if it was 110 modded to 109 ?

surely they cant just crush if rejected, they should allow you to rebuild again until you get it right ? if not surely many of the restored galvy series on ebay should have been long gone

theres allways an issue if they get involved not mot fail

honestly dunno I popped in for a mazda wing mirror deffo a leafer chassis tho looked new if anything body was straight he said it was picked up from up north somewhere was to be crushed no parts for sale from it. I asked how much for the chassis he said its more than his jobs worth. Gotta try tho

Just been reading, apparently moving crossmembers or using a non standard part to repair with classes as chassis alteration……..that just strikes me as stupid. If you have steel knocking about thats cheaper than buying a proper one and better suited to the job you use it, it just makes sense that way

there are **** loads out there and i take a fair few through mots regular ,though eventually the eu will have you not modding vehicle at all ,if we stay in

Well hold on I'm wedging aeu2522 into a series swivelhousing once I refit my 90 axle and diff after a tyro comp ( you couldn't write it!! I broke my 90 on a poxy kiddies trial all the comps its been hammered and yet the kiddies trial broke it!)

Anyways after getting that back on the road I'm wedging aeu2522's and custom shafts into a series axle aka the original casing and width for my trials motor if it works out ok I'll post it up. but time is against me.

The EU wants all 3 year old cars off the roads. Simple thats why they introduced this classic stuff 1973 anything else will eventually be scrapped any welding MUST be inspected and that usually involved X raying it Check Germany regs out? no aftermarket parts unless specifically recognised, tested and approved by manufacturer. its the way its going

Right Jai, I've had a read

I have more than 7 points

This is taken from the leaflet

Chassis - 5
Axles (both) - 2
Steering - 2
Transmission - 2
Suspension - 2
Engine - 1

Therefore I have;

Chassis - 5
Suspension - 2
Steering - 2

and thats 9 if not 11 if I keep the standard axles, I'm safe

Liar you just replaced your x member!!!!! NER NER!!! lol now you lose 5 points!

anyway enough chit chattin gotta get to bed cos I wanna get up and bolt my 90 back together before I gotta go collecting landy parts from Surrey!

#### the ****ing EU they do sweet **** all for us apart from drain money, 19.2 billion per year ffs
they do ,some have watched star trek and seen one of every creed working together all be it in a usa culture and think this can be here now ,socialists believe the working man is the same throughout the world and will unite and throw off culture the rest of us may think its nice but live in the real world ,so the money helps them with their ideals just not most of us

Right last post and I'm off to bed so will check in the morning.

SVA came in in 1998, if the vehicle had had a modification before then you'd be safe, given that this is 40 years old odds are it would have done, if need be I can always trim out the current one and move it back 3 inches, no one would suspect a thing without having two chassis side by side and laying them on top of each other or using a tape and builders blueprint

Axles may as well stay for now looking at things give than I have a military rear axle on closer inspection however I will no doubt modify that at some point or maybe modify the salisbury to look like the current military axle given that its got all the extra plating on it and you wouldn't really know once it has a full diff guard welded on, and I say welded so its all concealed

engine I know I'm out of the running for that unless it was put in before 1998 which it may well have done, I'll check the MOT's and see how far back it goes for that and if it was in before then I can dump in a replacement of the same spec and its fine, no different from swapping a worn out old leaf spring for a new one or parabolic

and with that I'm off to bed
