Can anyone tell me what mounts to use/cut/weld etc.. I'm putting a 200TDi and 5 speed box into a 2 door Range Rover. The Range Rover had a Perkins and standard 4 speed which are now sold. Do I need to cut the engine mounts from the Disco or is there an adaptor for the Range Rover mounts?

You given up on the perkins then ? Put a 200tdi out of disco in my 89 RR, made up engine mounts by copying disco ones and welding them in, back of head hit bulk head so had to do bit of reshaping (with a hammer !) guess you might have do same.

Thanks for info, will probably cut mounts out of Disco chassis. Hi Kds, perkins went as I didn't want the worry of breaking the gearbox or beefing up breaking and suspension due to the weight. It was a bit of a wrench as I had got the Perkins set up with hot start and plumbing. Hey Ho....

Cutting mounts out disco is maybe best bet, save a lot of fabrication just got to weld them in in right place then. Yes perkins are on heavy side, didnt half make my hoist sprag a bit lifting mine out. 200tdi will feel like a rocket after perkins.
