What does your disco weigh?

Hi all got my disco on the weighbridge at It weighed in at
21 80kgs.
I was quite surprised how heavy it is considering there's not allot of body work and the cab is made from fiber glass.
It's got a mazda engine in it coupled to a manual box .
I know the mazda is heavy but didn't think I'd be over 2 ton, or does that sound about right ?

That's not far of the standard weight is it,
Is your chassis full of mud ?

They are heavy,there's a lot of glass in them.Mine is too heavy at the mo but thats due to front and rear heavy duty bumpers and steering and tank guards.
As soon as I can afford it,its going trayback.

Mine weighs in at 2050kgs, no back seats, front slimline winch bumper and winch, 235/85 R16 tyres on alloy wheels.

Did have a full tank of diesel though so that adds an instant 80kgs

I'd dread to think how much mine weighs......

Admittedly she is stripped out. But probably still weighs a lot more than 2.1 ton.


Oh and the rear crossmember is getting the box section treatment soon too! Will be adding box section rock sliders and a rear winch.....

they all weigh less and less each year..
the tin seam's to worm put more and more one..

Mine is 2220kg, 300tdi XS with A/C, ABS, tree sliders and steering guard.

Soon to have a winch fitted.

I,ve just removed the boot floor rubber mat for the 1sr time since I got mine last September and I cannot believe how heavy the thing is. I don't cart a load of stuff around in it so thinking of getting some lightweight rubber matting. Should lose several kg there. Not weighed the car but its bog standard so should be around the 2 ton mark

I was thinking it would weigh more like 1.8 ton all I can think is its the bigger tyres plus spare, tank guard and the fact that it's got complete terafirma suspension set up front to rear arms and all.
I'm still going to try and get it on another weight bridge, see if I can find enough scrap around the yard to warrant a trip.

Handbook says...........

Kerb weight Tdi 3 door body 2055 Kg, 5 door body 2080 Kg.

Kerb weight V8 3 door body 1980 Kg, 5 door body 2025 Kg.

Kerb weight = Unladen weight+full tank of fuel+75 Kg driver.

In all models Gross vehicle weight should not exceed 2720 Kg.

Weighed mine last week 2300kg, that was empty. Has lots of extra steel bits on it etc.
