I am VERY jealous of Winu's freelander. I would love to have one like it but there has been alot of time and money and skills put into making it the car it is. More than i have!
 
It's still unfinished ;) . I need to make new interior trims (match it to roll cage paint and safety harness) , and some engine mods for more torque.

Brakes are finished and uprated :

Now we start some engine mods. Winter is a good time to do garage jobs ;). SES88 made some nice pipework for new boost system:) , but this is only a first step.

Trim works starts on spring.
 
I'm currently driving a W reg 1.8 manual SW that is in 2WD mode.

I'm very impressed with the 1.8. It is so nice to drive a petrol again. I couldn't afford the fuel bill, but it feels faster than my TD4. I wouldn't want a manual either. Driving around South London in and out of gear..... no thanks. The v6 would be even better, but at 15-20,000 miles a year I would need a mortgage to pay for the fuel.. :lol:

Yes. I've got spacers fitted and they fit the centres like a glove. Obviously they have a different off-set though. Not sure by how much, but they would still stick out enough even without spacers. I would recommend them to anyone wanting something different on their Freelander although the sleeved nuts are a must.

Do you have a link for the sleeved nuts? The white wheels would go lovely with my cairns blue paint, couple of sets on eBay at the moment as well, very tempting

I like the petrol Freelanders myself. The 1.8 is faster than the diesel equivalent. The 2.5 V6 is in a different league in both performance and thirst. I do about 6000 miles a year at a fuel cost of something like £1800!! or 30 pence a mile

That confirms what I thought.

The 1.8 is fun! if I was doing a lot less miles I would buy one.

No.

Actually I would get the V6 :D I prefer autos, though playing with a manual petrol every now and then is fun.

My TD4 is currently working out at 20p/mile, and that should be better than that, so hopefully will get better. Though now my car will show more miles as the tyres are smaller.... :(

Standard flat seat M12 x 1.5. Plenty on Ebay all the same. £29.99 for 20, free delivery. I bought a set of 16 and 4 locking nuts due to the amount of people who kept asking about the wheels. Cheapest locking nuts on Ebay are around £17.
